Winter 2021 Lymphedema Self-Care Class
January 30, 2021 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm$45.00
Join us for our Lymphedema Self-Care Class presented on ZOOM, and in partnership with Cancer Lifeline.
Interested?! We encourage you to attend this signature class tailored to the needs of the registered participants. How? Each registrant will receive a pre-class call from our Lead Instructor so that we may understand your particular needs and make sure the curriculum addresses your questions. You will learn not only what you can do to care for your Lymphedema but will also learn about navigating the range of choices for medical and therapeutic care and services available. We begin by introducing the Lymphatic System and by developing a basic understanding of how it is supposed to work, and then by explaining what happens when Lymphedema enters the picture.
In this class we will also welcome you to our community: of those with Lymphedema, of medical professionals certified in Lymphedema care, and of guest contributors with specialized expertise as we are always enhancing our understanding of Lymphedema and of Self-Care.
Lynn Fass (Registered Nurse & Certified Lymphedema Therapist), Julie Venn, (Licensed Massage Therapist, Certified Lymphedema Therapist, and Garment Fitter), and Meryl Shier (Vital Moves Educator) are our Instructors for this class. All three of of these instructors have Lymphedema themselves.
Class begins at 10:00 a.m. (PST) and ends at 3 p.m. Online Sign-in starts at 9:45 a.m. We will break for a lunch break around 12:30 or 1 p.m.
After lunch, lymphatic movement & exercise will be discussed and followed by the Vital Moves demonstration with a special series of movements designed to stimulate lymphatic flow. All can can still participate in via ZOOM. So get ready to move!
